From February 17 -21, Vinternational hosted a group of 20 wine importers from China for the 2014 China Wine Importers Australian Winery Tour. The tour was co-hosted by the prestigious Chinese publication, New Food Magazine.
Led by Vinternational CEO Hamish Baldwinson and Vinternational China Brand Ambassador Richard Xi, the visit began with a conference and tasting at the Rockford Hotel in the city. Here the group was briefed on the current trends of the Australian Wine Industry by Anthony Madigan of the Wine Business Monthly Magazine, along with opportunities for Chinese importers in the Australian Wine Industry by Vinternational Chairman Stephen Millar.
Blessed with glorious weather, the delegation then embarked on a working week full of tasting and dining across South Australia - enjoying among other things, a Murray River cruise, pizza on the bank of the Murray, and tutored wine tastings with winemakers and grape growers. Visits were made to Gomersal Wines and Peter Lehmann Wines in the Barossa Valley, CCW in the Riverland, Project Wine Winery in Langhorne Creek, Penny's Hill and Adelaide Winemakers in McLaren Vale.
Growers Gate Review - Danish Magazines
The Growers Gate Shiraz 2012 and Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 have received some rave reviews of lates, such as the below from Danish magazines. Note: the "King of Denmark" is a Danish candy...
Growers Gate, Cabernet Sauvignon, South Australia 2012
”A bang for the buck”. Sun ripened dark berries, vanilla and roasted coffee, camphor. A delicious wine that suit most dishes. Great correlation between quality and price.
Growers Gate, Shiraz, South Australia 2012
"Blueberry, delicious flattering notes of the ”The King of Denmark”, eucalyptus. Silky smooth, delicious and round, but still with body and power. Clean luscious powerful fruit, good intensity and a wine in complete harmony. A bang for the buck. This is how it should be done!
